When I try to download a title in Overdrive Media Console, I get "Unable to acquire license" error. What can I do?
What to do if you get an 'Unable to acquire license' error in OverDrive Media Console
This error typically occurs when the system time is incorrect, or an ODM file for a title was downloaded but not opened in OverDrive Medial Console (OMC). Generally, this issue can be easily solved by either setting your system clock correctly or downloading the title again.
Full error message: 'Unable to acquire license to play selected title. The requested license is either invalid or already acquired.'
Please follow these steps:
Check that your computer's system time, date, and time zone are correct.
Windows: Right-click the clock to the lower-right, then click Adjust date/time.
Mac: Click the clock in the upper-right, then click Date & Time Preferences.
Clear your internet browser's temporary files.
Download the title.
OMC will open automatically, showing the newly added title.
If OMC does not open when you download the title, find the ODM file and open it.
