Q

I have a library card and have been trying to log in...I keep getting a "login failed".

I had no problem logging in a couple weeks ago, but now it says my card number is invalid.

Hi!  I apologize for the inconvenience that this is causing you.  I suggest that you contact a branch location.  It may be possible that your library card account has reached its expiration date.  This is normal and happens every three years for Madison County/City residents.  By calling one of our branch locations, you can have your privilege renewed (granted that you're a Madison County or Madison City resident) at no charge.  Simply provide the clerk with the last seven digits of your library card number, and we'll be able to renew your privilege.

If you are not a Madison County/City resident, the non-resident fee will need to be paid again.  The non-resident fee grants individuals/families that do not reside in Madison County/City a library card privilege for a one year period.  After this period, the privilege expires and will need to be renewed in person at a nearby branch, at which time, the fee is due.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact your nearest branch or call the main branch at 256-532-5985.  Thanks!
