Q. How do I search for a topic in Consumer Reports?
If you are researching a topic and do not have a specific article in mind, you may search by keyword in the MasterFILE Premier database on the Alabama Virtual Library. The AVL is available free of charge to all Alabama residents. If you have difficulty accessing the AVL, visit your local public library for a username and password.
- Go to www.avl.lib.al.us.
- Click on "View All Resources" in the middle of the top toolbar.
- Scroll down and click on "MasterFILE Premier" database.
Now, you are ready to search for articles.
Type in keywords related to your topic (the fewer the better at first).
If you want to limit your results to just Consumer Reports articles, type "Consumer Reports" in the box labeled "Publication."
If you do not find helpful articles, contact the Reference Department at firstname.lastname@example.org or 256-532-5975. We are here to help with your search.
