Q. Is there a good online source at the HMCPL website on the history of U.S. government and politics?

Answer

One source is "Ebsco's History Reference Center" found on the Alabama Virtual Libary (www.avl.lib.al.us). Another excellent source is "Gale Encyclopedia of U.S. History: Government and Politics," found on the Libary's web site (hmcpl.org) by accessing "My Digital Library" with your library card and pin numbers and selecting the "Gale Virtual Reference Library. This is an online version of a two volume, 2008, print set that provides a concise overview of the U.S. government and political scene throughtout American history, with a paticular emphasis on how government and politics are affected by and effect, social change. A source designed for middle and high school students doing research papers on U.S. history and government.
