Q. How do I download eAudiobooks to my iPod using the download station?
The Digital Media Zone (DMZ) download station is located at the Main Library Audiovisual Department (first floor). You may use this download station to put audiobooks on MP3 players and iPods without using your computer or laptop.
If you are unfamiliar with the download station, ask a staff member to help you get started. First browse DMZ and find audiobooks to check out. Sign into DMZ with your library card and PIN and check out an eAudiobook. Connect your device into the station (you will need to bring your own cord). Go to your "Items Out" list and click on the "Download" button. Viola!
If you have an iPod, you must set your device to "manually manage music" before coming to the library to use the download station. Below are instructions on how to do that.
Enable the iTunes setting 'Manually manage music…' for the device.
- Connect the device to your computer.
- If it does not launch automatically, open iTunes.
- Locate the device in the left vertical navigation panel (under heading 'DEVICES').
Click the device.
The 'Summary' screen is displayed.
- Place a checkmark next to the option 'Manually manage music…'.
- Click the 'Apply' button.
The changes are saved.
If you still experience problems, please ask a staff member to troubleshoot. If we cannot resolve the issue, we will research the problem and get back in touch with you.
