Q. Do you carry records on the history of a house?

I've heard from older people that my house used to be a cemetery. Perhaps somebody died in it. How can I find records on this?

It depends on the house and location. While we do have either Vertical File or published materials on some of the historic homes, most of the time there is little to nothing that has been written. Many of the houses are simply that . . . a house.

We would be glad to see what might be available if you'd like to visit us in person. There are not only the records and materials we have as far as the library collection but much of the county records for Probate and Tax offices are located with us on 3rd floor.
