Q. Where can I find online information on endangered species in North America?

"Beacham's Guide to the Endangered Species of North America" is available through the Alabama Virtual Library (www.avl.lib.al.us) under the "Gale Virtual Reference Library."  This resource presents extensive data on the habitats and ecosystems of more than 1200 species identified as endangered by the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service.  Each entry includes basic information about the species including an image of the animal, a concludng summary of current recovery efforts, and a bibliography of contacts for further information.  This resource is appropriate for middle school students and above.
