Q. Where can I find good online information on ancient Rome for a research paper I'm writing?

An excellent, new source now available through the Gale Virtual Reference Library on the Alabama Virtual Library (AVL) is "Ancient Rome: an Illustrated History." This resource covers the founding of Rome by Romulus in the 8th Century BCE, to the heights of the Roman Empire, and on to the death of Theodosius, the last man to rule over a unified Roman Empire, in 395 CE. It is profusely illustrated with pictures and maps.  "Ancient Rome: an Illustrated History" is an excellent resource for high school students studying world history.
