Q. How do I find online information on starting and operating a small business?

The Reference & Adult Services Department has many good print resources on all aspects of operating a small business. One good online source is the "Encyclopedia of Small Busines, 4th ed." available through the Gale Virtual Reference Library on the Alabama Virtual Library (AVL). This is an online version of a highly useful two volume set from Gale Cengage, a major publisher of reference sets. It provides entrepreneurs with how-to information they can apply to their own businesses. The 4th edition features revised and expanded coverage to reflect the most current small business topics such as efficient use of the Internet. A great resource for anyone considering creating a small business.
