Q. When downloading Digital Media Zone titles on my Mac, I get a DRM error. How can I fix this?
Answer
What to do if there is a DRM error on a Mac
Typically a DRM licensing error is caused when OverDrive Media Console (OMC) thinks that an ODM (OverDrive Media) file has expired.
Fixing the error
The easiest way to fix this error is to make sure that the date and time are set correctly on your computer, and there are no old versions of the file hanging around to cause trouble.
-
Check the date and time by clicking on the clock in the upper-right-hand corner of your desktop.
-
Click Open Date & Time Preferences…
-
Make sure the date and time are correct. Make any changes necessary.
-
Save your changes, and open your web browser.
-
Delete the title(s) from OMC (select one, then click Delete), then try downloading a fresh copy.
Make sure you are opening the ODM file right after you get it.
