Q. Where can I find good online information on cancer?

There are many good sources discussing cancer on the Library's website including "MedlinePlus" and the various periodical databases found on the Alabama Virtual Library (AVL). Another excellent source is "The Gale Encyclopedia of Cancer, 3rd edition," an online version of the two volume print source of the same title. It is part of the Gale Virtual Reference Library found on the AVL. It includes comprehensive surveys of 120 cancer types, descriptions of drugs and treatments used to fight cancer including discussions of possible side-effects, and descriptions of a variety of alternative treatments. A great source for students writing health papers and the general user looking to find out more information on cancer and cnacer treatments.
