Q. Where can I find online information on teen health topics?

There are several good sources of information available through the Gale Virtual Reference Library accessed with your library card and pin number through the "My Digital Collection" section of our web page at hmcpl.org. "Adolescent Health Sourcebook, 3rd edition" is part of the excellent Health Reference Series. This 2011 publication offers parents and teens accurate basic information about growth and development during adolesence and related safety issues pertaining to teens. Another online source found here is "Diabetes Information for Teens: Health Tips About Managing Diabetes and Preventing Related Complications." This 2012 publication examines the alarming trends in diabetes and provides facts about the different types of diabetes, its medical management, and the roles of nutrition and physical activity in averting its consequences. These are excellent sources for teens and their parents wanting accessible information on these topics.
