Q. I'm going back to school. Where can I find academic skill building information for adults?

Answer

The Library provides access to an excellent online collection of study guides called "Learning Express Library" that includes sample prep tests for adults wishing to review and improve their academic skill levels. This source can be accessed through the Library's web page (hmcpl.org), selecting "Online Resources," and then choosing "Learning Express." You will need to ask a library staff member to create an account with Learning Express by entering your full library card number and creating a pin number. Once you've registered at the Library, you will be able to access the resource at home through the Library's web site. After login, select "Skill Building for Adults." You will then have access to a number of E-Tests and E-Books and can save them in "My Center" in order to retake and review them. There are dozens of sample tests and reviews available on math, reasoning, public speaking, science and writing skills as well reviews on grammar and personal finance skills. A perfect source for anyone wanting to enhance certain academic skills or preparing to return to school.
