Q. Whre can I find information to help my child prepare for elementary school level achievement tests?

The Library provides access to an excellent online collection of study guides called "Learning Express Library" that includes sample prep tests for the elemetnary school achievement tests This source can be accessed through the Library's web page (hmcpl.org), selecting "Online Resources," and then choosing "Learning Express." You will need to ask a library staff member to create an account with Learning Express by entering your full library card number and creating a pin number. Once you've registered at the Library, you will be able to access the resource at home through the Library's web site. After login, select "Elementary School" and then select either "Math or Reading Skills Improvement." You will then have access to a number of E-Tests and E-Books and can save them in "My Center" in order to retake and review them. There are dozens of sample tests and E-books available on these two topics including practice exams for the FCAT, STAAR and California 4th and 5th grade skills testing. A perfect source for elementary school students reviewing their basic skills.
