Q. I do not live in Madison county, but attend college there. Do I have to pay a non-resident fee for library card?
Answer
In order to receive a library card at no charge, a patron must show proof of residency in Madison County. Patrons who live outside the county must pay the annual non-resident fee. School attendance within the county does not grant free membership to the library. For details of the membership and circulation policies, visit http://hmcpl.org/policies.
The $20 annual fee for a single account is a bargain as membership allows a patron to borrow books, movies on DVD, audio books and music, e-books, and grants access to several online resources such as RocketLanguages learning programs, Scholastic's BookFlix, and Freegal music downloads. We'd love to have you as a member.
